A deep tissue massage to relieve tension in specific problem areas.
Deep tissue massage has a focus of realigning the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. With a foundation from the Swedish massage, Deep Tissue uses similar techniques but with more intense pressure and more of a focus to release chronic muscle tension and knots. Treating areas such as stiff neck and upper back, lower back pain, sore shoulders and leg muscle tightness, Aenea Therapeutic Massage is especially helpful for chronic aches, pains and tension.

What is the difference between Swedish and deep tissue massage?
Deep tissue massage incorporates the classic moves of a Swedish massage, but the movements are slower and more focused by applying deeper pressure in the concentrated areas of tension and pain.
How fast will I get results with a deep tissue massage?
It is important to be aware that all of your knots and tension will not disappear within an hour, “If the therapist presses hard enough”. Undoing the symptoms of chronic knots and tension built up over a lifetime, is best achieved with an integrated program that includes exercise, work on your posture, and a course of massages.
Will a deep tissue massage hurt?
The Aenea Therapeutic Massage is for those guests that want to focus on a particular concern of tension and knots. It is a bit more uncomfortable than the Aenea Signature Massage, however it should not be painful.
Will I feel sore after the massage?
You may feel some soreness the day after your massage. Drink plenty of water to help aid in the removal of waste products from the tissues. (The toxins that are built up in the muscles causing knots)
How often should I have a massage?
Depending on your concerns and reasons for having a massage, will determine the regularity of the treatment required. For those guests without injuring and purely wanting to enhance their wellbeing and relaxation a massage once every 4-6 weeks is recommended. For those guests that have a particular concern, aches and pains or injury, your massage specialist will recommend a course of treatment and the frequency of your visits over a period of time.
